Role: Site Reliability Engineer
Location: Edinburgh/Glasgow - Hybrid
Our client specialise in offering investment, pension and benefit & risk consultation services alongside tech and data solutions, and is expanding their tech teams with an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role within the firm. Working with the latest technologies to facilitate high-end solutions within collaborative and innovative teams, our client is looking for Site Reliability Engineers on multiple levels of experience.
Working within a DevOps approach, you will support the technology community within the company, delivering client services, supporting, and enhancing engineering solutions. Improving and implementing best practices and ensuring policies are up to date and deployed within daily practices is another important responsibility. Your role will also include escalation support for internal teams, and external members of the clients’ digital community. (*Occasional work outside of normal hours could be required*)
Example: if joining in a more senior role, there are opportunities to enter ‘Expert groups’ within the company e.g., Security, Architectural and Continuous Improvement in Release.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience working in an engineering role e.g., software development or IT background at senior infrastructure level.
- Experience in systems design, and core knowledge of areas such as:
- Networking
- Windows OS
- Security
- Databases
- Cloud
- Basic scripting, or software development languages such as .NET and Java, and database languages such as SQL
- Previous experience supporting websites/web applications.
Desirable:
- .Net framework, PowerShell, NodeJS
- Integration
- Experience with RESTful APIs
- SQL Server 2019
